Doctor Who episode w/ VanGogh
I love Doctor Who. when I first saw it I fell in love with the show. It grew up pretty fast from Christopher Eccleston to David Tennant to Matt Smith. As I watched it more and more I realized that Doctor Who has many life lessons they teach in the show. When I saw the episode that just came out with Vincent Van Gogh as a main character, I was deeply touched because of the end. But before I go there i want to share my thoughts about the whole episode. When The Doctor and Amy came to town that night, They spotted Van Gogh getting kicked out of a bar because he couldn't pay the man. Amy and Van Gogh seem to bond through the episode, it's not like a lover connection but more like a best friend relationship. Best friends happen when the 2 go through the same thing you do and in the episode Amy and Van Gogh are 2 of a kind. We all battle our own demons weather it is alcohol or drugs or sex and Vincent Van Gogh was battling his own demon of acceptance and love excluding the ugly beaked thing he could only see but even in that the alien was suffering from fear and wanted to be comforted and loved. Amy and Doctor brought Van Gogh to the Museum where they discovered him and let him look at all the art and paintings that he had done and let him know that he was loved and people did accept him as an artist. You never really know your worth until you find it out from another person and when you do hear it it blows you away because you never even expected to be that great. Amy and the Doctor return to the art museum after dropping off the artist back at home and found out that Van Gogh killed himself even though all they had done was to keep him from that. Amy, wrapped in the Doctor's arms was told that life is like a pile of good and bad things and what they had done for him added to the pile of good things in his life. Sure they never kept him from killing himself but sometimes the little things you do make all the difference. It almost made me cry and I was proud of the writer who made that episode and I hope and pray there are more to come!
